SIPADAN DIVE CENTER

The Go Diving package at SDC is ideal for experienced divers looking for easy access to Sipadan’s legendary sites. On arrival in Tawau, on Borneo’s north east coast, you’ll transfer 90 minutes by road to Semporna. From here it’s just a 30 minute speedboat crossing to Sipadan.
A large open lobby and decking area doubles as the main restaurant and bar. The atmosphere is informal and relaxed. Behind this 14 thatched bungalows, modelled on a local native village, are nestled into the tropical forest. These simple twin share rooms have air-conditioning, a ceiling fan and en suite facilities including hot water showers.

Small aluminum tenders take divers to sites around Sipadan itself or to neighboring Mabul & Kapalai. These guided dives depart 3 times per day. Departure times and destinations are posted on the schedule board the evening before.

Between 7am and 10pm tanks are also available from the dive shop for unlimited, unguided, shore diving at Drop Off, just a short beach walk away. For photographers Scubazoo Images have a pro based at SDC to handle all slide processing requirements. There is also a full video-editing suite.

Why Sipadan Dive Centre...?
A very chilled out place, Sipadan is all about diving, relaxing and diving again! SDC’s great deck is ideal for catching some sun, Gheko like. Accommodation and facilities are simple but the friendly, personal service and atmosphere more than compensate. Location is also important on Sipadan and SDC offers easy access to the island’s shore diving.

Go Diving Package
Our advertised package is a 7 night chalet package including 5 days diving (3 boat dives per day and unlimited shore diving) on a Full Board basis including International flights from London Heathrow to Kota Kinabalu on Malaysian Airlines (via KL). We also include the internal flight from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau and the road and boat transfers from Tawau to Mabul. Click here to see an example Itinerary.

Extensions
With such a diverse eco system in this region we have put together a choice of extensions for the SMART divers package. These options are the most practical for the package we offer , however if you would like us to tailor a package to your needs please dont hesitate to contact us.
ITINERARIES

This sample Itinerary is based on 7 nights at SMART divers resort and does not include an extension.

DAY 1
Depart London Heathrow at 12.00 and fly on Malaysian Airline overnight to Kuala Lumpur.

DAY 2
Arrive at Kuala Lumpur at 07.25 and take a connecting flight from Kuala Lumpur at 09.35 to Kota Kinabalu arriving at 12.10. You will be met by our representatives and transfer to your hotel for the night, details of your hotel will be advised at the time of booking.

DAY 3
Early morning pick up and transfer to the airport for your short flight from Kota Kinabalu at 07.00 to Tawau arriving at 07.45. On arrival you will be met by our representatives and transferred by road to Semporna Jetty (approx. 1hr). From Semporna Jetty it is short hop to Mabul Island (approx. 40mins) by speedboat to check into your chalet/water bungalow. In the afternoon you will have the opportunity for 1 boat/check dive , please note no cameras are allowed on this dive.

DAY 4 - 8
There are 3 boat dives per day and the schedule will be posted the night before. Diving is conducted around Mabul, Sipadan, Kapalai, Mataking and Roach Reef. (please note Sipadan has a maximum number of 120 divers per day, we will apply for an entry license for you at the time of booking. Other Islands such as Si Amil, Mataking and Ligitan can be reached by boat if entry permits are not approved to Sipadan, and also offer fantastic diving with a range of pelagic dives). In addition to the daily boat dives there are tanks available from 7am - 10pm for unlimited, unguided buddy system shore diving.

DAY 9
After Breakfast you will check out of your chalet and return via speedboat to Semporna. You transfer by road back to Tawau airport, you flight departs from Tawau at 14.40 arriving in Kota Kinabalu at 15.25. Your return flight departs Kota Kinabalu at 19.15 and arrives in Kuala Lumpur at 21.40. You will depart Kuala Lumpur at 23.40 and fly overnight to London Heathrow on Malaysian Airlines.

DAY 10
Arrive back to London Heathrow at 05.50.
