• Suvadiva Atoll - Tony Backhurst Scuba Travel also exclusively offers diving at Suvadiva Atoll. This remote southern atoll is virtually undived, real exploratory stuff. Our boat in Suvadiva is the Sultan of the Maldives a world class liveaboard offering the highest standard of service and accommodation. She operates a flexible itinerary with stays as short as 3 nights being possible.

Itineraries are kept flexible to seek out the best diving according to prevailing weather conditions and migration patterns. All itineraries are subject to weather conditions and local regulations.

Set amid an azure lagoon on the Lhaviyani Atoll, 40 minutes by seaplane from the International airport 'Hulhule' is the exclusive Komandoo Island Resort. With a truly tranquil atmosphere Komandoo offers a unique holiday experience with the emphasis very much on the individual. There is a choice of spectacular beach villas, magnificent jacuzzi beach villas, and romantic jacuzzi water villas. Komandoo is a popular island honeymoon destination, with its crystal clear waters and lush tropical gardens its not hard to see why.

With more than 40 local dive sites in the area, Komandoo Pro Divers offer world class diving from their 5 Star PADI center on the Island. Pro Divers, sister operation to the Kuredu base, is managed by Staffan’s team lead by base leader Tom Mehli. Boat dives are offered both morning and afternoon and it is also possible to shore dive on the islands house reef across the lagoon. The intimate nature of this tiny island is reflected in the personal service of the little dive centre.

This quiet little resort is ideal for couples wanting a little peace and relaxation without having to compromise on the diving. For the ultimate relaxation experience, the Duniye spa offers an exquisite range of treatments with a menu flavoured by the world's time-honoured beauty, healing and rejuvenation traditions. Kuredu is also an ideal extention to our luxury liveaboard monsoon.

Our advertised package is 7 nights in a beach villa with a 3 day diving package (6 boat dives, 1 shore/check dive, inclusive of boat fees) on an All Inclusive basis, including international flights from the UK to Male on Emirates (via Dubai in each direction) and Seaplane transfers to/from Male. The price is based on 2 sharing.

Emirates fly from either London, Birmingham, Manchester, Glasgow or Newcastle (TBC) via Dubai to Male. Other airlines are available on request. Stopovers in Dubai can be arranged, please our extensions page for more information.

The minimum stay at Komandoo Island is 6 nights however we can tailor a package to suit your needs.

KUREDU ISLAND RESORT

Kuredu Island Resort is located on the northern edge of the Lhaviyani Atoll, an area famous for its abundant fish life 80 miles north of the International airport 'Hulhule' (40 minutes by seaplane). A large island, Kuredu retains a personal service within a relaxed fun atmosphere, hosting regular evening entertainment. There is a choice of cosy and comfortable bungalows or spacious beach villas, lining the beach front. Or at the islands’ southern end, is the self-contained Sangu resort boasting romantic jacuzzi beach villas and fabulous water villas. Kuredu also has several restaurants, bars and shops for your convenience.

Diving is organised by Pro Divers, a Swedish owned operation professionally managed by Staffan and Ray, Kuredu’s base leaders. The base is large but with 10 dive boats visiting different sites around the atoll you wouldn’t know it. Boat dives are offered both morning and afternoon, up to 5 times daily, to one of the atoll’s 45 dive sites. A photographer’s dream there are dedicated photo boats, film processing and a video-editing suite. For non-diving partners Pro-Divers also organises dedicated snorkeling trips. The professional dive operation is large enough to offer a great range of facilities and services but retains a personal touch that brings divers back time after time! Plus, on our Go Diving package there’s no need to worry where you put your wallet!

Kuredu also boasts an array of other activities including windsurfing, kite boarding, water skiing and sailing. There is a range of beach activities including volleyball, football and even a floodlit tennis court and 6 hole golf course. Another popular facility at Kuredu is the spa where you can book body massages, facials and other treatments. Kuredu a stunning island, ideal for a tropical holiday and well suited for those seeking a relaxing break in an informal setting. Kuredu is also an ideal extension to our luxury liveaboard Monsoon.
