The Hotel FORTINA SPA RESORT offers 4 star accommodation right in the heart of Malta, opposite the beautiful historic walled city of Valletta. Not only convenient for the many sights Malta has to offer but also next door to the Oxygene Dive Centre.

Malta is just a short flight from the UK with daily departures from Gatwick for long weekends or 7 night holidays to suit different timetables and budgets.

This makes it a great place for dive students to complete their Open Water courses - once you have the Academics and pool session under your belt why not complete your course in style in one of Maltas beautiful, calm sheltered bays. This is what diving is all about after all! Malta is also a fantastic place for those certified divers that want a few days away with their buddies or dive club in warmer water with clearer visability than they get at home.

The diving is among some of the best in Europe with visibility reaching 25-30 metres and water temperatures that climb to 28c. Malta strategic position in the Med means it is now home to plenty of wrecks – bomber planes, fighter planes, submarines, destroyers and much more. The underwater caverns and formations form spectacular landscapes with a healthy marine life including nudibranchs, barracudas, jacks, breams and sometimes John Dorys and even seahorses. If the wartime wrecks are not enough new wrecks are being continuously added – The Rozi and the Um el Faroud being 2 examples of scuttled wrecks that have created artificial reefs. Whilst some of these are accessible to recreational divers, a number of them rest at greater depths and are reserved for the growing number of technically trained divers.

Tech Wreck Weeks are a chance for divers to experience some of the best wrecks in the world such as Le Polynesian and HMS Southwold. The number of divers is limited to between 6-8, ideal for Dive Clubs to arrange a holiday for qualified members – allowing them to put their skills into practice in an environment of warm water and good visibility. Full dive briefings/suggested profiles are given for each wreck and full boat support is provided based on 2 technical dives per day for 5 days. This is a closed boat for Technical divers only. Prices start from £505 per person per week.

With a wealth of sightseeing opportunities, pavement cafes and shops in Sliema and Valletta, Malta is a destination that provides entertainment for non divers as well – making it perfect for divers and their families.

The hotel facilities include a fitness centre, indoor and outdoor pools, an extensive Spa selection (including Thalasso and Hydro-therapies, Chinese treatments, saunas and massages) and 6 restaurants. Rooms are equipped with Air con, hairdryers, ensuite showers, mini bars and tea/coffee making facilities.

Upgrades to half board or All Inclusive are available. Different departure airports are also available – please ask for details.
