Join us on a relaxing cruise around the islands and lagoons of the beautiful Red Sea, swimming with wild dolphins, beach barbeques, and snorkelling on the coral reefs onboard a luxury liveaboard boat. Ideal for families, small groups and individuals. Along the coral reefs that edge the Egyptian Red Sea coastline and in the lagoons of the offshore reefs, several species of dolphins live and roam throughout the year. We will be cruising the reefs and islands between Marsa Alam and Hamata in the south of Egypt. The boat is a fully fitted Liveaboard Safari vessel, with en-suite twin and triple bedded cabins. The well equipped galley serves oriental and continental style food and the bright and airy saloon, with TV and video, amply accommodates all passengers. Sundecks allow room for relaxing. As we cruise to the locations we know the dolphins frequent you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of desert islands lying in calm blue waters and the mountains of the Egyptian coast, while lying on your sunbed on deck. When moored in the lagoons of the reefs, you may snorkel on the beautiful coral reefs or swim with the dolphins. You can also expect to see Green and Hawksbill turtles, many types of rays, and many beautiful coloured fishes. The islands offer spectacular bird life, with Ospreys being common, soft white sand beaches and shallow lagoons. Dolphin species we expect to see and swim with are Bottlenose, Spinners, and Common dolphins. Also resident but more unusual, are Rissos dolphins, whale sharks (plankton eaters) and manta rays. Rare sightings may include Leatherback and Loggerhead turtles and Dugong. Download pdf file info sheet on Dugongs in the Red Sea. Our itinerary is fairly open as we will go where we believe the dolphins will be on each day, staying with them in one spot if they are interacting happily with us. Our policy is not to intrude but to interact with the dolphins on their terms. If they show any indications of our being unwelcome we will withdraw from the water until a better dolphin-swimming opportunity presents itself. In general the dolphins appear to enjoy human company. They love to bow-ride the boats, and they often interact with swimmers. A beach BBQ and a night snorkel trip are included in the programme each week. Snorkelling and Scuba Diving: To swim with the dolphins you will need to use fins and a mask and snorkel. If you wish to scuba dive we will be providing tanks and weights and a qualified Dive Guide. Extra kit can be hired by prior arrangement. Diving will be charged as extra. Scuba Diving is available for qualified divers and as an introduction for those who wish to try it for the first time. If you have ever dreamed of diving now is the time to try - there's nowhere better than the Red Sea. Please read our How to Swim with Dolphins code of conduct. Dates
